UM MSRB - Chiller Plant Modifications

This $500,000 Chiller Plant Modifications project involved the investigation and modification of four (4) absorption chillers with a total capacity of 3,340 tons. The existing chiller system was operating substantially below the original design specifications, which resulted in insufficient cooling capacity for the facility.

Scope of Work

  • Investigation and evaluation of the steam/ condensate system, chillers, pumps, cooling towers and control system.
  • Recommendation and cost estimate for proposed modifications.
  • Steam system modifications and control system upgrade to increase chiller efficiency and monitor performance.

  • Engineering investigation.
  • Preliminary design and cost estimate.
