UM Green Lights Program

The Green Lights program involved the design of new energy efficient lighting and the implementation of the system for the 540,000 sq. ft. chemistry building on the Ann Arbor campus. The cost of the new lighting system paid for itself within four (4) years in estimated energy savings. The approximate total annual energy savings equals $90,000 per year (>1 mm kilowatt-hours per year).

  • Retrofit existing fixtures into new energy efficient fixtures.
  • Install new occupancy sensors.
